A Canada Temporary Resident Visa allows you to visit Canada for a short stay, either to meet family, travel, or for other purposes. Below is a list of documents required to apply from Canada and Nepal.
Supporting Documents from Canada
- Letter of Invitation, Sponsorship, or Statutory Declaration
- Passport copy of the sponsor and immediate family members
- Proof of Immigration Status of the sponsor
- Employer Verification Letter
- Recent Pay Slips
- Bank Statements
- Most recent T4 or T1 tax documents
For Super Visa Applicants (Parents/Grandparents)
- Details of Host Child/Grandchild’s family composition (including dependents)
- Proof that host child/grandchild meets the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) standard
- Recent Notice of Assessment
- Latest T4 or T1 form
Supporting Documents from Nepal
- Income-related documents
- Bank statement of the past 6 months
- Lalpurja with translation and property valuation (if applicable)
- Proof of Fixed Deposit (if applicable)
- Share Investment evidence (if applicable)
- Relationship Certificate with family in Nepal and sponsor in Canada (if applicable)

- Completed Temporary Resident Visa Application (IMM5257)
- Family Information Form
- Copies of the passport bio-data pages of all applicants
- Two recent MRP-size photographs
- Legal proof of any name changes (if applicable)
- Certified copies of birth certificates for all applicants
- Marriage certificate or relationship registration (if applicable)
- Proof of divorce, separation, or widowhood (if applicable)
If the Applicant is Under 18
When applying with parents
- Certified copy of birth certificate
When applying without parents
- Certified copy of birth certificate
- Consent letter from parents permitting travel
- Certified copy of parent/guardian’s government-issued ID with photo and signature
- Proof of enrollment in school, college, or university
Original vs. Copies
Original documents are not needed unless specifically requested by the Canadian Embassy or High Commission. Submit certified copies attested by a Notary Public.
If Documents are Not in English
All non-English documents must be accompanied by a complete translation that includes:
- A confirmation by the translator that the translation is accurate
- Date of translation
- Translator’s full name, signature, and contact details
Visa Application Fees
- Visa fees must be paid when submitting the application.
- If applying online, fees are paid online.
- If applying via the Canada Visa Application Centre, fees must be paid by Demand Draft, and service charges through Manager’s Cheque.
